Purchasing Manager

About the Opportunity

Volta Power Systems is located on the north side of Holland, Michigan. We create battery packs and power systems for RVs, Yachts, and the Industrial Trucks market. What You’ll Do

  1. Strategic: Develops overall buying strategies and inventory management plans. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes data for control of budgets and cost estimates. Communicates any price increases, alternative sources, product availability, or economical options.
  2. Supply Management: Coordinates with department leaders to establish and maintain accurate inventory levels of required supplies.
  3. Purchasing: Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  4. Vendor Management: Negotiates with and selects suppliers for quality, value, capability, reliability, and previous transaction history and manages the on-going relationships. Ensures best prices based on volume or payment options. Monitors vendor managed inventory for reliability and accuracy.
  5. Recordkeeping: Maintains and/or implements purchasing recordkeeping systems.
  6. Budgeting: Administers the departmental budget for Annual Planning purposes.
Service Specialist

About the Opportunity

Volta Power Systems is located on the north side of Holland, Michigan. We create battery packs and power systems for RVs, Yachts, and the Industrial Trucks market. The Service Specialist is part of our Service Department, a team that supports both RV dealerships and end users/owners. This role will be heavily responsible for any technical writing as well. As Volta continues to grow, this job will likely turn into a Service Manager, responsible for the entire department.

What You’ll Do

  1. Writing: Work with Engineering, Operations and Service to produce and maintain world-class documentation such as user manuals, systems diagnostics manuals, training materials, course development etc.
  2. Quality Management System: Support documentation in the QMS by writing, editing, and proofing policies, procedures, work instructions, standards, and forms.
  3. References: Manage content library and establish relationships from document to document, within document content, or to other points of reference to maintain messaging and business product continuity.
  4. Cross Departmental Support: Work with Sales and Engineering to ensure document messaging is consistent; may resolve systemic failures.
  5. Volta Brand: Ensure all written materials are easily understood, organized, accurate, and represent the Volta brand.
  6. Feedback: Gather customer feedback on documentation to improve usability.
  7. Service: Provide engineering know-how to RV technicians and end users/owners by answering calls and emails and problem-solving field failures.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify problem areas and proactively contribute to their improvement. Investigate new writing methods and technologies to implement innovative solutions.
Assembly Technician

We currently do not have any openings for this role, however we are always receiving applications. 

About the Opportunity

Volta Power Systems is located on the north side of Holland, Michigan. We create battery packs and power systems for RVs, Yachts, and the Industrial Trucks market. As a younger company, we only employ 38 employees, and our Operations group is currently a team of 8.

Work Environment

Volta’s manufacturing floor is air conditioned and clean. Most of the time, you will work independently at an individual station, occasionally helping team members when necessary. You may listen to music or podcasts while you work. We also provide you with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch!

We have monthly employee engagement events that include volunteering, grill outs, corn hole tourneys, picnics and more! We pride ourselves on a fun-loving environment filled with people who work hard, but also know how to have a good time.

Essential Duties

Each day you will work on a different station to assemble our battery packs. Work includes minor electrical assembly, small hand tools, quality testing using a computer, and build documentation. We expect each team member to maintain excellent quality, keep their area clean, and most importantly, maintain safety.

Work hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. OT is currently minimal.

You must be able to lift 50 pounds and must be able to pass an Ishihara Color Test.

This position is located in a single shift production facility.  The position may require work with potentially hazardous products in a controlled, safe environment.
