Responsibility

The Engineering Coordinator ensures proper application of process and tools discipline across the Volta engineering organization. The Engineering Coordinator will be the Subject Matter Expert for key engineering tools and will be the designated Volta administrator. Working in conjunction with the Program Management team, the Engineering Coordinator will oversee the application of engineering development processes, including change management, and will be responsible for training and development in these areas.

Typical Duties

· Oversee day to day operation of AutoDesk Inventor tool operation, ensuring engineering team are trained and equipped to perform their development tasks. Respond quickly to emergency needs as they arise.

· Ensure engineering team are trained and equipped to operate effectively within the UpChain PDM environment. Respond quickly to emergency needs as they arise.

· Build and maintain library of training material on AutoDesk Inventor and UpChain PDM.

· Define and update PDM workflows as required to satisfy internal process demands.

· Ensure application of product development process across all new projects, including requirements development, DFMEA, Design Reviews and DVP&R.

· Take ownership of the Engineering Change Process and its associated tool. Work directly with engineering and support teams to ensure proper application of process.

Technical Support Specialist

Responsibility

This position is responsible for technical phone support. This will involve conversations with with OEMs, dealerships, and end-user customers for their service and support needs.

Typical Duties

1. Telephone / Email: Monitors and answers incoming phone calls and emails during standard working hours. Coordinates with other team members to ensure calls are monitored over the lunch hour. If a call is missed, returns the call as soon as possible.

2. Field Service Ticket Management: Obtains and documents detailed information about each failure in the online ticketing system.

3. Remote Diagnosis: Once trained, may work with OEMs, dealerships, technicians, and end-users to evaluate and diagnose Volta systems, components, and applications remotely. Uses appropriate decision trees to ensure diagnosis follows Volta standards.

4. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA): Initiates an RMA for any nonconforming material found during diagnosis. Collaborates with the Warranty Administration and Quality Departments to appropriately document the RMA in the Ticket Management System.

Resident Engineer

Responsibility

This position is responsible for Resident Engineering onsite at Airstream, a key Volta customer, in Jackson Center, Ohio. This will involve service and coordination with them, their dealerships, and end-user customers for their service, training, and support needs.

Typical Duties

  • Production Support: Supports Airstream production as it pertains to Volta products. This may include responding to quality concerns, component failures, supporting rework, etc.
  • Service Engineering: Follows up and responds via phone or email to field service cases should Airstream receive a case related to Volta products. Works with dealerships, technicians, and end-users to evaluate and diagnose Volta systems, components, and applications remotely. Uses appropriate decision trees to ensure diagnosis follows Volta standards.
  • Service Ticket Management: Obtains and documents detailed information about each failure as required by internal standards for both Airstream and Volta. Follows established procedures for ticket, service, and replacement part management. Manages the ticket for its entire life cycle, from when it was opened to its closure.
  • Travel: Travels to customer locations to diagnose and service Volta systems, when necessary. While traveling, tests system and component capabilities according to Volta documentation and standards. Repairs systems and/or replaces the parts, as necessary.

May travel up to 25% of working hours.

Product Engineer

1. Mechanical Engineering: Designs, develops, validates, and releases mechanical systems, products, and components for Volta customer applications.

2. Requirements: Studies and applies customer requirements into mechanical design of systems, products, components, and applications.

3. Drawings: Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.

4. Vendor Management: Collaborates with outside vendors and contractors when necessary to oversee mechanical product development.

5. Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, identifies, and implements systems and/or process actions to drive systemic improvements.

6. Project Management: Monitors and controls objectives, costs, and timelines of assigned projects.

Assembly Technician

Work Environment

Volta’s manufacturing floor is air conditioned and clean. Most of the time, you will work independently at an individual station, occasionally helping team members when necessary. You may listen to music or podcasts while you work. We also provide you with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch!

We have monthly employee engagement events that include volunteering, grill outs, corn hole tourneys, picnics and more! We pride ourselves on a fun-loving environment filled with people who work hard, but also know how to have a good time.

Essential Duties

Each day you will work on a different station to assemble our battery packs. Work includes minor electrical assembly, small hand tools, quality testing using a computer, and build documentation. We expect each team member to maintain excellent quality, keep their area clean, and most importantly, maintain safety.

Work hours are 6:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday and 6:30am to 10:30am on Friday. OT is minimal.

You must be able to lift 50 pounds and must be able to pass an Ishihara Color Test.

This position is located in a single shift production facility.  The position may require work with potentially hazardous products in a controlled, safe environment.
