Typical Duties

1. Strategic: Develops overall buying strategies and inventory management plans. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes data for control of budgets and cost estimates. Communicates any price increases, alternative sources, product availability, or economical options.

2. Supply Management: Coordinates with department leaders to establish and maintain accurate inventory levels of required supplies.

3. Purchasing: Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.

4. Vendor Management: Negotiates with and selects suppliers for quality, value, capability, reliability, and previous transaction history and manages the on-going relationships. Ensures best prices based on volume or payment options. Monitors vendor managed inventory for reliability and accuracy.

5. Supplier Development: Develops supplier scorecards and implements supplier performance improvement plans to continue to develop Volta’s supply base.

Project Engineer

Responsibility

The Project Engineer’s main objective is to support Volta customers during new product launches. This will include support in terms of project management, system integration, manufacturing readiness support at customers facilities, and customer training.

Typical Duties

1. Collaborate with assigned Volta customers as they launch their Volta Power System. This may include design of schematics for specific customer applications.

2. Ensure customer success during the integration by following a project timeline, setting up appropriate meetings, and maintaining close contact with the customer.

3. Train customer team on their Volta product. This will include travel to the customer location to provide onsite support during their launch of Volta.

4. Support field diagnostics for assigned customers, when necessary.

About the Role

The Quality Team at VPS consists of this position, the Production Quality Engineer, and the Quality Manager. Due to the size of the department, the responsibilities of this position are broad. You’ll have an impact on Production and Supplier Quality; You’ll be part of building lasting quality systems; You’ll be on the front-end of problem solving issues. It’s exciting and impactful.

Typical Duties

1. Production Quality: Works with the Operations Manager to develop inspection plans and containment plans should a quality concern arise.

2. Problem Solving: Supports the problem solving and corrective action process which may include preparation and submission of customer required documentation and/or construction of 8Ds. Ensures that corrective actions meet timing, quality, and format requirements.

3. Supplier Quality: Works with suppliers to ensure quality products, free from defects and in compliance with Volta’s internal specifications, are provided to Volta. Works with suppliers to resolve any issues.

4. Audits: Supports internal and third-party audits of Volta work processes and ensures timely close out of any required corrective actions.

Assembly Technician

Work Environment

Volta’s manufacturing floor is air conditioned and clean. Most of the time, you will work independently at an individual station, occasionally helping team members when necessary. You may listen to music or podcasts while you work. We also provide you with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch!

We have monthly employee engagement events that include volunteering, grill outs, corn hole tourneys, picnics and more! We pride ourselves on a fun-loving environment filled with people who work hard, but also know how to have a good time.

Essential Duties

Each day you will work on a different station to assemble our battery packs. Work includes minor electrical assembly, small hand tools, quality testing using a computer, and build documentation. We expect each team member to maintain excellent quality, keep their area clean, and most importantly, maintain safety.

Work hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. OT is currently minimal.

You must be able to lift 50 pounds and must be able to pass an Ishihara Color Test.

This position is located in a single shift production facility.  The position may require work with potentially hazardous products in a controlled, safe environment.
